This week Michael, Geoff, Bill and I are joined by Mike Herald for our special Mac Book Pro show. Mike and I just got our MBP’s on Friday and we talk about what we like about Apple’s newest additions to the Mac Book Pro Line.

Great live podcast as usual. Just to note though, Dell Adamo are not the only Win laptops with Aluminum, not that Aluminum is so great being a scratch, dent & bend magnet. The following also come with an aluminum chassis: HP Mini 2100, Alienware M17, Dell Precision Laptops, Dell Latitude 5500 & 5400 and finally Dell XPS Studio 16 just to name the few that I currently know of . A more suitable material which is slowly but surely becoming mainstream is the carbon/glass fiber chassis. These are considerably lighter than aluminum, as well as pretty much dent, scratch and bend proof and can be found in the Lenovo X200 & x301 series laptops. In addition, another durable metallic-alloy the Magnesium Alloy comes in many Win laptops too.
Most of the ones mentioned can be found with comparable or better chipsets than on the Macbook Pro and for the same or less money.
Don't get me wrong, the Macbook Pro is a very nice device, and I would not suggest it is not a decent deal, however, to suggest that there is no alternative is disingenuous at best.
Otherwise great show!
