I caught this over at The Red Ferret Journal this morning and I thought it might be pretty handy for those of you that want a packaged set of freeware that you can carry on your USB memory stick. It is called the Portable Apps Suite and I think this is especially handy for netbook users that might have limited space on our machines.
All you have to do is plug into your USB socket and go! There is no install, no hassle, and no mess. This collection of tools is called the PortableApps Suite and it gives you instant access to applications that include, Firefox browser, Thunderbird for email, Sunbird for Calendar/tasks, games, as well as office software.
There are two versions ( a Light version for 256+ MB devices and Standard for 512+ MB) and it’s all open source which means FREE!)
All you do to get it running is to copy it on a portable device and you’re good to go! To get your own copy head on over to the Portable Apps Suite website.
