I have been reading on some of the sites today about the Blogger or Press  credential scandal going on at CES. As usual the egomaniacs are all up in arms that they received Blogger credentials instead of Press credentials.

I don’t think that just because you Blog and give your opinions on products makes you a part of the mainstream Press. Even if you have had an article published should you be considered press?  I don’t think so.

I think that the Press designation should be reserved for the folks that are truly reporters and what I mean by that it that they make a living doing it. Face it any clown with a laptop and an Internet connection can be a Blogger. We are all living proof of that.

Again I think a lot of this has to do with ego, and from what I have seen lately there is plenty of that in the mobile community. These people need to start focusing more on blogging about products then feeding their ego’s.

So shut up, take your Blogging credentials, and enjoy the event. It really is pitiful to listen to you whine about something so inconsequential.

Maybe if they are considered press, they quality for free stuff? (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
