How would you react if the person you had a falling out with sometime ago, and has been bad mouthing you ever since, called to congratulate you on a recent event? This is exactly what happened to a friend of mine recently. While the sentiment was nice was it genuine?

Can you honestly believe anything that this person said given their conduct over the past year? I for one would not. I would wonder what their motivation was. Especially since the person has never apologized for their past conduct.

It is my opinion that if this person was truly sincere the first words out of their mouth would be an apology, otherwise I would take anything they said with a grain of salt.

It takes a big person to admit they are wrong. I guess this is not the case here.
